This is probably my least favorite taco restaurant in OC. With so many other places to go, why go here?

This location is a melting pot of testosterone and hormones gone wild on the weekends. Its a great place to eat but its number one a meat market. if you are going for food i suggest going to another location huntington beach perhaps. This is an all in out Drink to get drunk from afternoon till close kind of place. the service is not that great i would say a bit rude and thats sad because I work in NY CITY people c'mon i'm used to rude. On an upside if you do happen to go on a day where you can sit and eat I suggest the nachos or fajitas which are verry verry good and you must try the all you can eat chips n salsa.

I went to have lunch on February 27th, at 1:00, long line when walked in, and no clean tables, food on the empty ones...Went to the bathroom, no soap, so how does the employees, wash there hands?? Asked an employee to fill the dispenser, no one knew where the soap was, they were running around asking each other, the cashier, just said, dude, leave me alone, I don't know...I was standing right there, then one of the employees, comes out and fills it up, I asked to look at the container it was hand purifier...This place was not in control, no one managing, under staffed and gross, I live in Newport and I will never go back, unless, new mangement.

quality of food is the same as other fastfood restaurants. service is very bad and not friendly.

I always get the sharkys chicken salad and chicken tortilla soup or a kids power plate so I can't really vouch for anything other than those items but I do love that they offer healthy proteins (even grilled tofu!). All their fresh salsas are good too but my favorite is the tomatillo salsa. I'm huge on consistency and I knocked off one star for their inconsistency. There's always a 50/50 chance they get my to-go order right but their convenient location and yummy salad keeps me coming back just about every week.

Not sure why my previous review of this place was deleted, but if you think you can get away with poor service I don't think so. I came in here on Wednesday of Spring break because we were looking for a nice lunch spot before hitting a resort. Turns out the big boy at the register, Joe, had a fancy for my girl's chest. If you think that I don't see you drooling with eyes locked then you have got to be kidding me. Own up to this Sharkys rather than try to get bad reviews deleted.

The food here was just average. Nothing memorable. I ordered Santa Fe Angus steak burrito that came with the steak of course which is advertised as natural, antibiotic free and no hormones with pico de gallo and guacamole. The beef was tender but did not have much beefy flavor. The burrito was just average to small in size. The burrito was just average overall and a little pricey at about $9.50 for just the burrito. Also, I ordered the four cheese quesadilla priced at $5.99. It was definitely not worth the price. There was a low amount of cheese melted between two flour tortillas. Very plain and not much cheese.

Good Mexican food. We can start with that. Great little shopping center, lots of room outside to sit and enjoy your...I don't know, jalapeño. The place is kept nice and clean...now...service - could be better. Could be a lot better. Kids who work at the front desk are completely over everything and don't even try to hide the utter absence of enthusiasm. The "chefs" in the back get visibly pissed off whenever they screw up the order. One part of me actually appreciates this - someone had a really sh*** day and they are sharing that with me. All other parts of me would prefer if I that wasn't the case. I really like this place and will most definitely go back...and again, I will quietly nod my head in disapproval of poor customer service, pick up my burrito, enjoy every bite and feel lucky that I have no bigger problems in life to worry about. #ThirdWorldProblems

The management here is excellent. There's one guy (I think he's the manager) who always walks around and makes sure everything is to the guests' satisfaction. He's super kind and friendly! I love their take on Mexican food. The quality is superb & I'm always satisfied with my order. You do pay for it though! Sharky's isn't cheap. Despite the price, I'll continue to return in the future!

Come here with low expectations. There are positives: relatively healthy Mexican food, friendly service, lots of options, reasonable prices, food that is not affirmatively bad. But you're in California, which means you can stand anywhere, throw a golf ball, and probably hit a better Mexican restaurant. P.S. Don't throw golf balls at restaurants.

Sharky's is a great place if you are looking to eat healthy and not spend an enormous amount of money. The power plates are delicious, and the nachos are great and there is a salsa bar in the back too. Never had a bad experience with the customer service either.

Sharky's WoodFired Mexican Grill My husband and I have lunch at Sharky's Mexican Grill almost every Sunday. I like the fact that Sharky's is located just up the hill from where I live. It's easy, convenient, and the food is comforting. I generally order a California soft taco with chicken breast, and a side of Steamed Broccoli. Other faves is the superfood salads and power plates. For take-out, I like the Sharky's Burritos with either chicken or Salmon. Sharky's highlight is Eat Fresh, Feel Good about Eating. The food is organic, natural and local ingredients that meet which is right up my alley. The staff is super friendly, quick and efficient, and my burritos are always perfect. Overall, the food is healthy, not greasy and most importantly, all the fat is removed from the chicken. I feel confident I can bite into my burrito and not be concerned with spitting out pieces of fat.

Wow, walked in today to find they jacked-up their prices by 40%! Not much of a value anymore. Lunch will set you back 12-16 bucks now which is more than most sit-down restaurants.

I came to Sharkeys with a group of 5 on a Friday night around 11pm. Luckily, it wasnt too jam packed. The line to get in wasnt very long and we only stood in line for about 10mins. Once we got inside, it was crowded but not sufficatingly. There was room to walk and linger a bit. We ordered 3 Boston Lagers which totaled $20, bae sais thats a tad pricey for beer on tap. And he knows cuz he was a bartender back in the day. It was the same for 3 Stella Artois. The bartender dude who helped us out was very slow and not friendly at all so that was annoying but whatever. The crowd was very diverse. You had your share of white chicks in the corner thinking their cool tryna dance like bali wood dancers when some random Slum Dog Millionaire song came on. Then your belligerent asian girls in a complete disarray falling everywhere and dancing right in the middle of everyone. Then, the older women in the back nudging you and unaware of the space they invade. And of course, weirdo Persian guys staring and tryna holler even when they see your boyfriend or date(like in my sister's case) standing right next to you. Thankfully nobody got too crazy but it was annoying when this European guy tried volunteering himself to take our picture when we didnt even ask him. Social norms...they must not be the same in Europe. The bar had 2 sections which made it seem spacious. The bathrooms were moderately clean and had 3 stalls and 3 sinks. I honestly think they should get rid of paper towls for hand drying altogether and just use those electric hand dryers- it would appear and would be more hygenic/clean. What I thought was cool though was some coffee grounds on the floor in the corner of my stall. It made for a great odor consuming my nostrils- much better than your typical bathroom smell. The music was good, lots of variety and we had a good time. They could dim the lights more but overall it was fun.

We love Sharky's. The salsas are all awesome. Food is pretty heavy though so don't eat here if you're watching your macros. There's not a single item on the menu that's not awesome. We prefer Sharky's over Chipotle.

Tacos Burritos and Quesadillas! What's better than 'healthy' Mexican food? Yes I did say 'healthy'.This place has charbroiled chicken, rice, beans prepared with no lard, fat, or grease. Won't need GasX if you eat here. :)

This place defies everything about quick service food. Its all around outstanding. We visited three times in a week because it was that good. Stacked enchiladas was one of the best mexican dishes I've ever had. The tacos were excellent, BBQ chicken piizza was outstanding. A side order of grilled chicken for a child resulted in a beautiful sliced chicken breast which my son loved. The fresh salsa bar makes everything even better. Several fresh salsas, onions with clantro, pickled jalapenos, small peppers, limes etc made for an outstanding meal. This place makes Chipotle look like Taco Bell. What even more unsual is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful which is a refreshing change from the normal quick service restaurant. Awesome all around.

Had a coupon so I decided to give this place a try. I honestly thought it was a sit down restaurant but it's something like Baja Fresh except they have organic options. The food was not great. The rice and beans were pretty gross and I didn't finish them. I was looking forward to trying a new Mexican food place but wasn't expecting fast food quality at really high prices. Without the coupon it was going to cost almost $30 for nachos, fish taco plate and a drink which is outrageous... One can get the same thing from Wahoos at half the price. On a positive note, the staff there is very friendly and accommodating. Don't think I'll be coming here again.

When you have arguably the most expensive food in this type of category, expectations are high. I think one of the most basic things is getting the order right. I ordered something with one simple change: no salsa in the burrito. Oh and for good measure, they put cabbage in it instead of lettuce as was requested. So after 20 minutes(yes 20), I get home and the lazy cooks obviously didn't read the order because it was ruined. A quick $24 down the drain. This was also after they had messed it up the first time because I saw the person who took my order tell them that they made errors. So great job guys, you couldn't get it right even after doing it over. I won't be back here. There are two other locations that do know how to get my order right.

Poor service, waited over 20 minutes for food on 8:30 pm, Wed night. Food was ok, but would eat here again. There's plenty of other Mexican food around that I wouldn't go back.

I used to love coming here but it seems like unfortunately they have become pretty inconsistent the past few times I've been. The killer hot salsa is great. Very hot and flavorful. I usually order chips and salsa to go just to take home the big container of it. Their other salsas are very good and fresh as well, but if you like super hot then get the killer hot. I like that they have healthier options than some other places and that there are vegetarian options. The salmon and mahi that I have ordered here is usually very good. The last time I was in, it wasn't nearly as good as in the past (seemed dry and not quite so fresh like expected). They also messed up my order on a to go order when I asked for no cheese. Discovered it was wrong when I got home and started eating it so I wasn't going back out at that point. I realize no business can be perfect 100% of the time, but based on prior visits in the last few years, I feel like it used to be a lot better :/ I would say just double check your order before leaving if ordering to go just to make sure it is accurate.

Great salsa bar! I always order the 4 cheese chicken pizza, my wife loved the fajita taco. The killer hot and roasted tomato salsas are fantastic! Fair prices and they give free tortilla chips while you wait.

Nothing wrong with sharkys for a quick meal on the run - but this is by far the worst sharkys I've ever been to. Every single time we come it takes at least 20minutes to get a simple taco meal and it doesn't ever taste like any other sharkys. The only reason we come back is "hope" and the fact that it's 2mins from our house. Drive 7 mins down to Baja Fresh.

Chipotle Bbq Chicken: sauce, 4 cheeses, tomatoes, red onion, green onion, cilantro, chipotle crust. This was great but not as crispy as I recalled. If you want something that's light but still will fill you up, the pizza is great.

There are so many pluses to Sharkys! Mostly organic, fast, good tasting, etc. I have confirmed they use non gmo tortilla chips. A place after my own heart. Highly recommend the protein plate with chicken, yams and steamed broccoli. It's awesome!

Food is a solid 4 service a 5. So just a heads up their business operating hours on yelp are incorrect. They open at 11. When I called on a Saturday morning and spouted off my order for 4 you would think they would politely inform me the store was closed. Instead though, they took my order without hesitation and at the end said they don't normally open until 11 however they would try their best to be open at 10:45 with my order. The owner went above and beyond to make sure I was out with my food no later than 11am. Then when I was shuffling though the bags in the restaurant to make sure the order was correct he was patient with me and said he throw in a complimentary drink. Whaaa???!!! Im an inconvenience AND I get a complimentary drink? I was sure my next request would have gotten me thrown out...."um...could you add a plus 1? Someone changed their mind last minute and wanted to know if I could add a salad to my order." Their salsa bar is seriously legit and the food was good.

I know the reviews here are negative for getting orders incorrectly and for bad customer service, but this truly has not been my experience here at Sharky's. I thought the food was decently priced considering its focus on organic and locally grown food, customer service was stellar, and the wait for our food on a busy business workday was 5-10 minutes for a taco meal and a pizza. I'm not sure what people expect, but I thought the pizza was pretty damn good.

  • NANCY K.

Took my family there for dinner tonight. Food tasted fresh and tasty but my salad included cilantro which I cannot abide. Without batting an eye, the manager had a new salad made for me without any cilantro and even came over to my table inquiring if it tasted ok. Just fabulous service and I look forward to returning soon!

I came here for the pizza,,,, Big mistake. Well, I got a stone fired 4 cheese pizza and a bud light lime. Could not legitimately call it a pizza. Its probably much better for tacos and for salads.

This place is probably my favorite go to dinner spot. It is affordable and you can eat healthy if you want to. The meat is quality and their wood fire salsa is amazing. The staff is always friendly and I'm glad we have this place close by.

There are very few places in Newport Coast to get fast food on the go, so living here I've had a complicated relationship with Sharky's. What I've learned is to only order their wood fire pizzas, because everything else is really a coin toss. Its a good place to get a to go Mexican pizza for the beach, that's all!

After my favorite restaurant over in Irvine closed down recently, my heart was left with a casual-mex hole. Looking online at the menu, it looked like Sharky's might be a good substitute, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the naked chicken tostada as a means of satisfying my craving and attempting to eat healthy. The dish is basically an open-faced salad (I say this because it's completely spread out on the crunchy tortilla they give you, not in a mound like most salads), and it looked pretty good. As I started to eat it, I was just....underwhelmed. For paying $11ish dollars for this thing, they give you practically no meat. Putting that aside, the rest of the dish was completely bland with no flavor. Definitely did not live up to my expectations, and the price was way too high considering the lack of meat. Not the fault of the restaurant, but the whole experience was made worse by the fact that I was blinded by the sun inside the restaurant, and there were screaming kids overrunning the entire place. I ended up moving outside in an attempt to enjoy my meal in peace! Once outside, I saw a woman leave her table unattended for a moment, and the birds came and started eating her food. The birds repeated this as other tables came and went. The overhead speaker system randomly played snippets of a few songs, but then would stop....the genre selection was strange too, switching from Weezer to Haddaway's "What is Love?" The whole experience left me saying, "baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more..." It would take a lot of change for me to want to come back to this place.

I could had been really hungry but this place was AWESOME on their shimp tacos. I had two. mmm Why would I give them three stars? The tacos seemed overpriced (~$4/taco) for the size. I dunno. I felt like I could had gone to another place for the same taco for $2. It could be because it's OC too. Newport can be pricey. Also, I ordered a fish and a shrimp. They didn't distinguished which was which because one was for the fiance. :P And when I asked, they didn't know either. Then my friend called and asked for us to order for him and his preggers wife - so we got two chicken and another shrimp. They actually labeled it the second time. Another issue I had was with the nachos... I got them in a brown paper bag and throughout the day... it became soaked in oil. It was completely absorbed in the bag. Wow. SO MUCH OIL. SO BAD. PARKING: Lots of parking Overall: Was desperate for food, so was good but overpriced and SO unhealthy (the bag was SOAKED)

I've been here twice. The first time was fine, nothing wrong, but nothing great either. It was your typical "I'm hungry and look here's a place with burritos" type of night. I don't remember anything about the meal, and maybe that was the problem. I should have seen this coming.. The second time, pretty much sealed it for me and I won't be back. The service was fine, the order was correct, but the burrito was terrible. In retrospect, I shouldn't even have eaten it. Half of the tortilla was as hard as the chips that it came with. Not to mention it was flavorless as well. So I added jalapeños and their spicy salsa to make it bearable, and even then.... blah. It sucks because this place is close by, but next time I'll make the trip down to Chipotle... or Del Taco... or pretty much anywhere else. On a brighter note, the staff is friendly, the establishment is clean, and I didn't get sick. Cliffs notes: Go anywhere else.

We eat at sharky's frequently and were very disappointed this time. Service was terrible, portions were much smaller then usual and there was no manager to talk with. The cashier was the only nice person to provide decent service. Everyone else had terrible costumer service skills and tried to justify the small portion. I won't recommend this place.

I can't believe some of the bad reviews on this place, some people are SO grumpy it's honestly sad. Sharkys is SO good and has plenty of healthy options. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. The staff is always Polite to me, and they always get my order right. The fresh salsa bar is to die for.

Fresh food and awesome customer service. You can't beat this place if you live in Newport coast and looking for some organic food. I think their salads may have gotten smaller but their other entrees looked like the same portions. I ordered the nachos this time and yum they were good. If you're looking for a little kick to your salsa their hot one is very tasty. Definite plus place to grub in my book. They will even help you rearrange the tables for you to seat a bigger party.

*** I got an email from Sharky's letting me know that they read my review and apologized for the wrong orders. It says a lot about the place that they took the time to write me and actually read my review. This just shows great customer service :). I'll definitely be going back.

My visit to the Newport Coast restaurant was wonderful and I go there quite often I work for the Irvine Company and I feel this business meets and beats all expectations for the quality that Irvine Company delivers. One employee that really stood out was Mark F he is a great employee really cares and delivers quality service. This location all employees are very very well-trained.

Unfortunately this place is inconsistent. Living close by it used to be an easy spot to grab food, especially some of their healthier items like the naked sharky's chicken salad or chicken power plate with broccoli, but I'm kinda done. The staff is very nice but they cannot get orders right (like ever!) They jacked up their prices recently, yet I see no increase in quality like they claim (actually I think the food went down in quality) And there's always little gnats flying around the salsa bar & my food if I order in, which doesn't speak well to the cleanliness of the overall restaurant. Not a fan anymore sorry.

Local favorite, who doesn't love this? Stroll the boardwalk in Newport Beach, when you get tired, pull into Sharkeys. Best sports bar around (okay, there is one across the street that is pretty awesome too), but find a seat here and you will be lovin life. They have a cool "all you can drink bloody mary bar" (gulp) and pretty good food. Lots of people here, you will not be bored.

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat! I can truly say that I eat here several times a week. The food is fresh, healthy, and very appropriately priced for the portion and quality. The menu is very diverse, but always has an emphasis on healthy choices. I have tried several items, which have all been tasty. However, my favorite meal is the Naked Chicken Fajita Bowl. It has brown rice, black beans, steamed veggies, guacamole, non-fat sour cream, and grilled chicken. It is a very large and tasty meal, yet also very healthy. The bus boy, Christian, delivers the food quickly and always comes around to double check on how the meal is. He is very friendly, along with the rest of the staff. I will continue to be a regular at this place!!

I like this place because I work right next door. Everytime I go in, I ask for chips and salsa. The guy with the poofy hair always gives it to me for free, so he is extremely nice. He's given me free soda before as well. The food, I like because they have the option of getting it vegetarian, they have tofu! Normally places, their version of vegetarian is just vegetables, but I love the fact that they have tofu as a non-meat replacement. The tofu tacos are delicious. Beware of the bbq chicken pizza unless you tell them light on the bbq sauce its very overwhelming. Their salsas are bomb!! Their chips can get oily but other than that, I dont feel guilty eating here because they have organic rice and beans and no hormone meat. The cashier with the poofy hair cut is very friendly, go to him! :)

I ate dinner at "Sharky's Woodfried Mexican Grill" in Newport Coast, CA on 11/8/2012. It was my first time there. I had their fiesta burrito for $7.49. I chose streak and pinto beans - it was a good burrito.

I ordered a tempura taco and a shrimp taco and they were both very good! You can take as much salsa and fresh pico de gallo as you want, which is awesome. Sharky's uses organic and all natural ingredients, and uses no GMO or chemicals so it is better than your average Mexican fast food places. The service was great and the store was nice and clean. I have no complaints about this place! How many organic Mexican places are there? Not many. Sharky's food tastes better, and better for your health!

    (4)
  • Girl O.

Although they try to be healthy, their food lacks in taste and as soon as it gets cold it really taste bad like true bad fast food. Fish taco suck, beware, usually tastes like bad fish. The Service is very good, nice people.

What is it with this town and reviews talking about drinking here? I don't understand why you would want to get drunk at Sharky's, of all places. Anyway, the food at Sharky's is decent, nothing special. More like Baja Fresh-style mexican food (americanized) and a focus on healthier alternatives to the usual lard infused mexican fare. The nachos here are freakin huge, and are pretty good, steak is seasoned well and the chicken is okay, a little dry usually. Cons: dealing with newport children and their uppity parents.

I thought this was in Huntington Beach? Oh well...The scenery is beautiful!! I had boneless bbq chicken bites mmm...just think of it as chicken strips but bite sized. You can eat inside or outside. Just make sure your bottled beer is in a cup and that the host/hostess carries your alcohol to your outside table.

Nom-worthy chain restaurant? Let's see.... First of all, I really appreciated how nice the employees were. The man who helped us at the counter was very patient with my nubby boyfriend of a hundred questions. Apparently he was convinced that this was his last meal, and he wanted it to be the best hehe. (jk, love u!) So, he ended up picking the chicken quesadilla, and I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla grande ($8.99) ...oops how was I supposed to know this was SUPER DUPER party sized? Well, when our food came, mine came....2x bigger than my boyfriends. hehe how ladylike. He helped me finish! And a friend of ours came and ordered the sharky's chicken burrito. His looked BIG and he ordered chips with it too, which were yummy but nothing special. My quesadilla came with fajitas (peppers, onions and zucchinis) and chicken (sparse!) and sour cream, pico de gallo and guac. The quesadilla had 4 delicious cheeses oozing with grease -.- The majority of the filling was smack in the middle with a lot of excess tortilla. I should've ordered the regular quesadilla.. There wasn't much chicken :\ so I don't recommend that you waste your money on it, there's hardly any of it. But the service was nice, they were super accommodating, there was a problem with the party that sat next to us and the employees were super nice. Overall, nothing special, I'd come here every once in a while but... I wouldn't crave this place.

AWESOME healthy choices including wild Alaskan salmon tacos + spectacular FRESH salsas + reasonable prices + indoor & outdoor dining in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the O.C. Also SUPER friendly staff, fresh iced teas, and great place to grab a bite after a MTB ride, hike or run in El Moro State Park at the top of the hill. Be sure to sign up for Sharky's Finatic Club for coupons & frequent diner program.

I had really high hopes for this place and I have to say that when I am in the mood for Mexican, literally anything with ample cheese and beans will do me just fine. I ordered a fiesta chicken burrito ranchero style with a drink. A total of $12 for a semi-fastfood like establishment. Sharky's chips are incredibly good. But really it's hard to form a tortilla chip I do not like. The burrito was completely flavorless, which was a shame because it had quite the aesthetic appeal. But in the end, it was just not good and quite overpriced for being not good. The help was nice and I would even go as far as calling the old, Mexican man who served us "adorable." But he could not make up for my expensive, tasteless dish. It also didn't help that a pipe above me dripped on me through the entire meal. WIll not return.

He had the nerve to blurt out "WHAT IS THIS, ASIAN NIGHT?" WTF right??? Fuck you asshole who said that!!!! I hope you have ugly looking babies jerk! Racist prick. hahhha....we didn't have the food but I'm sure we would of tried it if we had felt a little more welcome.

Oh Sharkys, My Sharkys how I loveeeeee your Donkey Punch!!! The food here meh, nothing fabulous but not too bad..... but I defiantly come here for their Donkey Punch, I was introduced to this extra yummy drink concoction when my BF and I came in here for a few drinks, we ordered the punch and the rest was history. Service wasn't great, the server was actually a Lil snot with major 'tude, but after a few DP's I could care less as long as she kept on bringing them!

Sharkeys is pretty reliable. I think all I ever had was a Sharkeys chicken burrito and a quesadilla but they were usually on point. Prices are fair and it's always super clean inside. If you're a basketball fan it's a good spot. One of the cooks looks like Bruce Bowen, I met Kobe there and it's in the same plaza where that video of Kobe dissin' Bynum was shot , a couple years back.

I have been here before And the food has always been great. Today I have been waiting for 20 minutes for my to go order. They only have 1 person preparing food and there is a line out the door! I will probably not be coming back here again.

Fine -- good quality food, but burritos not particularly amazing. I'd love something more authentic, more spicy, etc. But definitely good quality. Good service. Decent prices.

Great fresh wood fired Mexican. Healthy option, great looking, large portions. Fajita bowls are great. The chips are awesome. We will be back!

This place is great of your going out to lunch on a casual day. The only problem I have is that when I order a fiesta burrito, I expect to at least see a medium amount of it instead of four tiny pieces.the way to get around this is to just ask for no beans or rice so they add a little more of it. Overall it's pretty good.

Man, I love this place. They have some supremely delicious salsas that are full of complex flavors. Great chips too. I usually get a fairly basic chicken burrito (I forget their name of it) but their chicken is up there in flavor with Rubios. (Another great tasting chicken) Its also all that trendy BS organic, hormone free, etc. but it tastes great! I'd rank this place 1st above Rubios, Baja Fresh, Chipotle and the like for the quicker Mexican food.

We ate here last night... It was overpriced for sure... The Mahi Mahi was delicious, but the portion was miniscule. I've heard that the portions are huge... but it might have been if they had taken my order correctly. I got tons of rice with my order... when I ordered only protein... without spices. TONS of spices came on the chicken. Delicious, but I'm allergic to garlic. Good quality however. Ok.. since my first post for Sharky's (above)... I've gone back. I ordered the fish and the salmon a la carte... They were both perfect! I'm a fan!

I always forget how much I looooove Sharky's, I really do! Sharky's is fast food at its finest; with grub that is comparable to restaurants and really great, healthy, organic ingredients, what's not to like? I have to say, their mexican pizzas and burritos are amazing; however the nachos, which I've only tried once, weren't the best( not bad, but I've had better). Their todstadas are also really good and SUPER huge! The tostadas can seriously feed two fat kids :) The people who work here are also really, really nice and friendly and are always striking up conversations. This place is great, definitely my favorite fast food.

Sharkey's uses organic beans and rice and all natural beef and chicken in their Mexican dishes. The fresh charbroiled fish is delectable and the salsa bar gives you options to work with. My personal favorites are the charbroiled fish tacos with black beans and rice. Top it off with an iced green tea and your good to go! UPDATE*** The last few times going there the tacos have been really inconsistent. They have gotten smaller with less meat and not as tasty. I still like the place so I will come back again and give them one more chance. No change in my star rating yet.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
